Working in the The Care Division offices isn’t for the faint of heart! This is a busy place, and because our care services are expanding year on year, the office team have to learn how to juggle and plate-spin from day 1.
Between them they also man our out of hours operation, enabling us to continue our professional and knowledgeable care service 365 days a year – 24 hours a day from our Dorset and Hampshire offices.
They’re a fantastic crowd and Jane and I know just how lucky we are to have them!
Steve Piper M.D.
Steve and Jane Piper founded The Care Division in 2000 as a sub-division of a larger commercial organisation. Over the years the care business became increasingly dominant and in March 2006 the company was re-launched as a stand-alone operation. The learning disability sector has always been at the core of their operations, and with the steady and sustained development of their supported living care services Steve and Jane are looking forward to a very busy and exciting future with a strong team of Managers and support staff around them.
Helen joined us in October 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the day to day running of The Care Division operation. She benefits from 21 years of care experience, the previous 12 of which was spent at the Borough of Poole, where she worked her way up through the ranks, to the position of Registered Manager for Supported Living, looking after 38 tenants with Learning Disabilities and employing a team of 54 staff.
Jo has been with the company since April 2006 and has seen the company through three phases of development with huge success. Jo’s 10 years experience of specialist support services and Care Quality Commission regulations stands her in good stead. She always aims for maximum effort and dedication from all departments to ensure that a smooth and excellent service is offered at all times.
Anne has worked in learning disability support for many years and for some time owned and operated her own care home. As the Registered Manager for our Poole office Anne is responsible for the delivery of our services to clients across Dorset and works to the principle that each client is unique and must be treated with respect and dignity at all times. Calm and unflappable, she has also learnt the essential art of delegation!
Ricky's undisputed passion for his work and empathy with his clients was gained early in life, through caring for his brother who has profound learning disabilities. He now has over 11 years experience working in the learning disability sector, with 5 years at managerial level and holds an NVQ 4 in Care Management. Ricky is responsible for the delivery of our domiciliary support services to learning disability clients across the Southampton area, and works in a calm, measured and professional manner to ensure that each client receives the highest standard of service possible.
As the longest standing member of our staff team - she arrived when we did, 10 years ago! She holds a degree in Human Resource Management and has been instrumental in helping throughout the organisation’s changes and developments over the years. Her commitment and dedication has been invaluable to the company. Nicky now has the added responsibility of a daughter to bring up and has returned to us on a part time basis.
With a total of 13 years working in the care sector, Kelly's last role before joining us in 2006 was as a senior support worker for a Neuro Care Centre, where she developed a wealth of knowledge in the disability field and in particular with regard to Acquired Brain Injuries. She therefore has a huge empathy both for our clients and our carers and goes to extremes to provide everyone with the support they deserve in her day to day co-ordination of the busy domiciliary care desk.
Abi joined The Care Division in July 08 to assist with the co-ordination of the Southampton team and the growing 1:1 support provision. She joined after two years in a similar role and brings with her some excellent customer service skills and a warm and friendly personality as well as a natural flare for organisation. Working closely with Becky, Abi is determined to ensure that all clients’ needs are met and relationships stay strong.
Sian first joined us on our reception desk in 2007 and was crucial in helping our growing business establish a range of practical procedures to ensure we keep on top of the mass of paperwork we accumulate. During that time she also helped out on the co-ordinating front and in October 2010 obtained a promotion to the Poole Rapid Booking Co-ordinators post, where her efficiency is paying dividends for both clients and support staff.
