"There's no place like home" is a phrase that is seldom more appropriately used than when it comes to the older generation. Becoming increasingly infirm, frail and vulnerable, unable to do those things that used to be second nature, is a sad but inevitable consequence of old age.
When things become too difficult and the ability to cope on your own becomes too great the options become limited.
A care home is often the first solution for elderly care that comes to mind and for many people who find themselves or a loved one in this position for the first time, is the only answer they know. But the upset and trauma of being moved out of familiar surroundings is difficult at any time for anyone, and therefore the opportunity to stay surrounded by things and people that you know and love can only be a huge bonus.
So the alternative of remaining in your own home with anything from occasional to 24 hour care support, provided by an outside resource such as The Care Division, is often by far and away the preferred choice.
Our service, which is overseen and authorised by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI), provides personal care for clients for anything from a daily half hour visit to help get up, washed and dressed in the morning, and another at night to go to bed, to comprehensive 24 hour a day care.
